Camel Valley: Site and Grape Varieties
The Lindo family's journey began over three decades ago on sun-drenched slopes near the famous Camel River. What makes Camel Valley wines so special is really quite simple: an idyllic setting, excellent grapes perfectly suited to the soil and climate, respect for traditional vineyard practices combined with modern winemaking, and most importantly, a passion for creating wines that provide pure pleasure.
Camel Valley has earned international recognition at the highest levels. Their wines were served at the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace, and they have accumulated numerous gold medals at prestigious competitions including the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships. These achievements have helped establish Cornwall as a legitimate wine-producing region on the world map.
The vineyard specialises in both sparkling and still wines, with traditional method sparkling wines representing their flagship offerings. Their Cornwall Brut, a blend of Seyval Blanc, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay, is regularly praised for its fresh, yeasty aromas, English hedgerow scents, and balanced acidity with a touch of honey on the palate.
