About Court Garden Vineyard

Court Garden Vineyard has earned its place among England's most celebrated wine estates through consistent excellence and an unwavering commitment to quality. This family-run, single-estate operation in Ditchling, East Sussex, produces wines that have garnered some of English wine's highest accolades, including IWC Trophies for Best English Sparkling Wine and Best English Vintage.

The vineyard's 6.8 hectares occupy a beautiful south-facing slope with the magnificent South Downs providing a dramatic backdrop. This privileged position in the Sussex Weald offers optimal sun exposure and excellent drainage, conditions that have allowed Court Garden to consistently produce grapes of exceptional quality. The estate grows Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, along with Ortega, Dornfelder, Pinot Gris, and Rondo, enabling production of still whites, rosés, reds, and their acclaimed sparkling wines.

The accolades speak for themselves: four silvers and a silver outstanding at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, three silvers at the Decanter World Wine Awards, two silvers at Effervescents du Monde in Dijon, and multiple golds at the International Wine Challenge. The 2010 Blanc de Blancs captured both Best English Sparkling and Best English Vintage trophies, while the 2015 Ditchling White Pinot Gris was named Wine of the Year under winemaker Hugo Corney's skilled direction.

Beyond wine, Court Garden has developed into a distinguished wedding venue. Their beautiful early nineteenth-century Sussex Barn, with its brick walls and clay tile roof, provides the perfect setting for celebrations. The combination of outstanding wine, stunning scenery, and historic architecture makes Court Garden an increasingly popular choice for couples.

Tours and tastings are available on Saturdays and by appointment, with an online shop and vineyard shop ensuring wines are accessible to all. Dogs are welcome, and the estate continues the proud tradition of Sussex viticulture that has made this corner of England internationally renowned.
