Digby Fine English was founded with one bold goal: to make England famous for world-class sparkling wine. Co-founders Trevor Clough and Jason Humphries released their first wines in 2013, made from the 2009 vintage, and have since built a reputation for producing exceptional fizz with a distinctly English character, both in the glass and in personality.

Producing the finest sparkling wine possible was always a prerequisite, quality is at the heart of Digby, but the founders were adamant that these wines should also reflect the inimitably English sense of humour. A glint in the eye, a wry joke, a hint of flamboyance, all protected by a perfectly composed demeanour. This personality pervades everything Digby does.

The company operates as a négociant, working with partner vineyards across the South East of England to source the finest fruit for their wines. This model allows Digby to select exceptional parcels from various sites, blending to achieve consistency and complexity. Trevor Clough serves as CEO and Head Blender, bringing his expertise to every cuvée.

Digby's innovative approach extends to their retail presence. They established the UK's first urban cellar door, bringing English sparkling wine to London and creating accessible experiences for city-based wine lovers. They even developed the first wine glass specifically designed for English sparkling wine, recognising that their wines deserved a vessel that showcased their unique characteristics.

The range includes several expressions, from their elegant Brut to their refined Blanc de Blancs, each crafted to demonstrate that English sparkling wine can compete at the highest level while maintaining a distinctive identity.

For Trevor and Jason, quitting their corporate London lives and moving to Sussex, the heart of English wine country, to pursue their dream represented a leap of faith. That faith has been rewarded with critical acclaim and a loyal following who appreciate Digby's combination of serious quality and playful English charm.
