About Mousehall Country Estate
Mousehall Country Estate represents a unique fusion of viticulture and distilling, set within a beautifully restored medieval property between Mayfield and Wadhurst in East Sussex. This family-run, sustainable estate emerged when Gary and Kathy Jordan, owners of the renowned Jordan Wine Estate in South Africa, discovered and lovingly restored this neglected property, bringing their extensive background in viticulture to the English countryside.
The vineyard is planted with the classic Champagne varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, destined for both still and sparkling wines. Their Tidebrook wine range debuted with the 2022 maiden vintage, releasing still Rosé, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir in 2024. The Tidebrook Staddle Stone Chardonnay 2023 has already earned Gold at the prestigious WineGB awards, validating the estate's winemaking ambitions. Sparkling wine production is underway, promising future releases of traditional method fizz.
Mousehall Distillery operates alongside the winery, producing award-winning spirits in Amahle, their 400-litre copper pot still. This makes Mousehall one of the first combined distillery and winery operations in the UK, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore both crafts in one location.
