About Nyetimber

Nyetimber stands as England's most celebrated sparkling wine producer, crafting world-renowned wines that have earned international acclaim and challenged the finest Champagnes in blind tastings. The estate's history stretches back nearly a thousand years, first appearing in the Domesday Book in 1086 as Nitimbreha, meaning a newly timbered house.

The modern winemaking story began in 1988 when the first vines were planted on the gentle south-facing slopes in the lee of the South Downs. Today, Nyetimber's vineyards span multiple sites across Sussex, Hampshire and Kent, all sharing the same greensand and chalk soils that provide ideal conditions for growing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – the holy trinity of sparkling wine grapes.

Under the ownership of Eric Heerema since 2006, and the expert guidance of Head Winemaker Cherie Spriggs and Winemaker Brad Greatrix, Nyetimber has achieved extraordinary recognition. Their wines are crafted exclusively from estate-grown grapes using the traditional method, with extended ageing on the lees to develop the complexity, brioche notes and fine bubbles that define premium sparkling wine.

The range includes their flagship Classic Cuvee, an elegant Rosé, the refined Blanc de Blancs, the prestigious Tillington Single Vineyard expression, and the pinnacle of their winemaking – 1086, named after the estate's Domesday entry. Nyetimber offers unforgettable experiences and events, providing visitors the opportunity to sample these celebrated wines and discover the passion behind England's finest sparkling wine.
