About Smith And Evans Wines
Smith & Evans crafts quality English still and sparkling wines from their Somerset vineyard on the White Lias Ridge of Aller Hill, overlooking the beautiful landscape near Langport. This boutique producer has earned recognition as one of Britain's most luxurious English sparkling wine producers, featured in both Elle Magazine and Harper's Bazaar's lists of the country's finest fizz.
The vineyard is planted with the three classic Champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The limestone ridge provides the mineral-rich soils that contribute to wines of remarkable elegance and complexity. Their 2023 Natural Ferment Chardonnay won a Gold Medal at the WineGB Awards, going forward for consideration as UK's Best White Wine and Best Wine Overall.
Owner Guy brings genuine passion to every aspect of the operation, sharing his knowledge through popular group guided vineyard tours that take visitors through the vines before tastings in their intimate tasting room. The estate also produces a highly regarded gin, though they've recently announced it will be their final batch.

The estate welcomes visitors from March through September, offering pre-booked group tours for six to fourteen guests. With rescue dog Bert now in training as the vineyard's canine ambassador, Smith & Evans combines serious winemaking with the warmth of a true family operation.
