About Wythall Estate Vineyard
Wythall Estate Vineyard in Herefordshire continues to flourish in one of the finest agricultural growing areas in England. What makes this vineyard truly unique is its extraordinary history – Wythall Manor has been the family home since it was built in 1520 and has never been sold. This unbroken heritage gives the McIntyre family a deep connection to the estate and an unrivalled passion for creating quality produce from their land.
Since the first wine release in 2014, both still and sparkling wines from Wythall have been extremely well received by customers, wine judges, and expert enthusiasts. The single vineyard approach means 100% of the grapes come from the Wythall vineyards, ensuring complete traceability and terroir expression.
The estate practices a low-intervention approach to winemaking, which, when combined with the rich Herefordshire soil, produces grapes of the finest quality. The result is superb, complex English wines that demonstrate the character and qualities of the local terroir. The Castle Brook sparkling wine has become particularly acclaimed.
Situated near Ross-on-Wye, Wythall benefits from the gentle Herefordshire climate and the fertile soils that have made this region famous for fruit growing. The vines form part of a wider agricultural business that includes growing asparagus – a perfect accompaniment to the wines.
Vineyard tours and wine tastings are scheduled twice monthly, offering visitors the opportunity to discover this historic estate and taste wines that carry five centuries of family connection to the land. The beautiful lakeside garden provides an idyllic setting for enjoying award-winning English wine.
