About Babu's Vineyard
Babu's Vineyard is a small, family-run artisan vineyard and winery nestled in the ancient village of Weston Longville in the heart of Norfolk. What began as a retirement project for Peter Ross has grown into an award-winning producer of distinctive English white and rosé wines.
Babu's Vineyard: Site and Grape Varieties
The vineyard was planted in 2009/2010, possibly the first in this area for a thousand years, with carefully selected varieties suited to the Norfolk climate. Solaris grapes produce the white wines, while Rondo provides the base for their rosés. The winery followed in 2013/2014, allowing complete control over the winemaking process from vine to bottle.
Since opening, Babu's has accumulated an impressive collection of awards, testament to the quality achieved through meticulous attention to detail and genuine passion for the craft. The wines reflect their Norfolk terroir, offering fresh, characterful expressions that showcase what can be achieved in East Anglia.
The name Babu's adds a personal touch to this family enterprise, and the artisan approach means every bottle receives individual care. Visitors are invited to sample the success of this labour of love through vineyard tours and tastings, experiencing firsthand the journey from grape to glass.
The vineyard welcomes visitors by arrangement, offering an intimate glimpse into small-scale English winemaking. For wine enthusiasts seeking authentic, handcrafted English wines with genuine character, Babu's Vineyard represents the best of the country's emerging artisan wine scene.
