The vineyard's cool climate status – a term that actually applies to all UK viticulture, not just Yorkshire – is embraced rather than fought against. Four grape varieties have been carefully selected for their suitability to this northern location: Bacchus and Solaris for aromatic white wines, Pinot Gris for complexity, and Pinot Noir Précoce, an early-ripening mutation that thrives where regular Pinot Noir might struggle. The result is wines with natural vibrancy, freshness, and genuine Yorkshire character.

Dunesforde's sparkling wine, evocatively named 'Queen of the North,' has attracted particular attention, while still whites and rosés round out a portfolio that punches well above its modest acreage.
