About FLEUR FIELDS VINEYARD
Fleur Fields Vineyard was born from a Tuscan holiday when Bill Hulme and his wife Flora decided to bring a piece of that Italian joy back to Northamptonshire. On Boxing Day 2000, with help from friends and family, they planted vines on a south-facing meadow overlooking Pitsford Reservoir, creating one of the East Midlands' most decorated wine estates.
Fleur Fields Vineyard: Site and Grape Varieties
The vineyard cultivates Phoenix, Seyval Blanc, Solaris, Rondo, and Triomphe grapes, producing seven distinctive wines: three champagne-method sparkling wines, a red, two whites, and a rosé. The team is entirely Plumpton College trained, bringing professional expertise to every aspect of vineyard management and winemaking.
Their commitment to quality has earned remarkable recognition: over 22 medals including two golds, 37 silver or bronze medals, and 19 trophies featuring numerous Wine of the Year and Best Vintage awards. This outstanding track record has established Fleur Fields among England's most accomplished boutique producers.
The philosophy here embraces life's pleasures - as Bill puts it, they've 'bottled the sunshine and laughter into both still and sparkling wine for everyone to taste and enjoy.' Visitors are welcomed with breathtaking views across Pitsford Reservoir towards Brixworth Church.
Production follows sustainable practices, using bicarbonate of soda (the same used in kitchens) and minimal sulphur for vine treatments. After harvest, grapes travel to Three Choirs in Newent for processing, then return to Fleur Fields for labelling and sale. Tours are typically free, though calling ahead is recommended.
