About Flint Vineyard
Flint Vineyard has emerged as one of England's most exciting wineries since its establishment in 2016. Located in South Norfolk, in one of the UK's driest and sunniest regions, Flint produces wines defined by balance, purity, and flavour that have earned critical acclaim and a devoted following.
The story began with co-founder and Head Winemaker Ben Witchell, who abandoned an IT career to pursue his passion for winemaking. After completing an Oenology and Viticulture degree and spending two years making wine in Beaujolais, France, he returned to England seeking the perfect location. A speculative email to local landowner Adrian Hipwell sparked a partnership that would transform English wine expectations.
Flint's vineyards sit on the gravel and flint slopes of Norfolk's Waveney Valley, producing expressive, vibrant fruit that goes straight to their modern on-site winery. Their approach combines precision with creativity, constantly questioning and innovating to extract maximum quality from their fruit.
The estate has grown to over 35,000 vines and has become renowned for category-defying Charmat sparkling wines alongside precision-made stills. Whether it's their aromatic Bacchus or their innovative sparkling wines, everything demonstrates what English wine can achieve with talent and ambition.
