About Maud Heath Vineyard
Maud Heath Vineyard has established itself as a premier producer of English wines since its founding in 2006 on the scenic Wiltshire hills near the village of Bremhill, close to Calne. Spanning 6 acres with 9,000 vines, this family-owned vineyard has built an impressive reputation for award-winning wines that showcase the very best of English viticulture.
Maud Heath Vineyard: Site and Grape Varieties
The vineyard cultivates a diverse selection of grape varieties including Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Rondo, and Chardonnay. This variety allows Maud Heath to produce an extensive range of wines, from crisp Chardonnay to their popular Tytherton blend. The Tytherton Red, a beautiful crimson wine made from 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Rondo grapes, has become a particular favourite and is available through select retailers including Waitrose Cellar.
The estate extends to 34 acres at Wick Bridge, encompassing not just the vineyard but also pasture and arable land. This diverse agricultural setting contributes to the vineyard's character while maintaining the pastoral beauty that defines this corner of Wiltshire. The undulating terrain provides excellent drainage and sun exposure, crucial factors in producing quality English wines.
