About Pant Du Vineyard and Orchard
Pant Du Vineyard and Orchard occupies one of the most spectacular locations in Welsh viticulture, situated on the stunning south-facing glacial slopes of the Nantlle Valley in Snowdonia, North Wales, at the foothills of Snowdon itself. Established in 2007, this family business has grown to encompass 2.83 hectares of vines alongside an orchard, café, and shop.
Pant Du Vineyard: Site and Grape Varieties
The vineyard's terroir is truly unique. Glacial soils deposited over millennia provide excellent drainage, while the south-facing aspect maximises sun exposure in this northern location. The result is wines of distinctive character, with an impressive range of grape varieties including Rondo, Bacchus, Siegerrebe, Sauvignon Blanc, Frühburgunder, Pinot Noir, Regent, and Seyval Blanc. These produce still white, rosé, and red wines that reflect the remarkable conditions of Snowdonia.
Visitors to Pant Du are treated to panoramic views that few vineyards anywhere can match, spectacular vistas of Snowdon and its surrounding peaks alongside sweeping views to the sea. The on-site café provides the perfect setting to enjoy these surroundings while sampling the estate's wines. The farm shop offers wines for purchase along with local produce.
