The vineyard's first harvest in 2015 marked the culmination of extensive preparation and research. The partners behind Punchbowl Valley carefully selected grape varieties that would thrive in this particular terroir and truly reflect the characteristics of their Surrey Hills setting. The planting includes classic champagne varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, alongside aromatic whites Ortega, Sauvignon Blanc, Seyval Blanc, and Bacchus.

This combination of grape varieties enables the production of wines that capture the essence of English winemaking while benefiting from the distinctive geology and climate of the Surrey Hills. The south-facing slopes and well-draining soils provide optimal conditions for ripening grapes to their full potential.
