About Shotley Vineyard

Shotley Vineyard is a stunning Suffolk venue situated overlooking the beautiful Orwell and Stour estuaries, where the maritime influence creates optimal conditions for producing exceptional English wines. Established in 2017 by Charlotte Davitt-Mills and her husband, who fell in love with the area, the vineyard now manages 16 acres of thriving vines.

The vineyard launched its first vintage in June 2020, quickly gaining recognition for quality. Their award-winning Bacchus and Pinot Noir have earned particular acclaim, demonstrating that Suffolk's coastal terroir can produce wines of genuine distinction. The vineyard grows a diverse range including Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc, Auxerrois, and Reichensteiner, enabling production of still whites, sparkling whites, rosés, and reds.

A newly constructed tasting barn, part-funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, serves as the heart of the visitor experience. This development was designed to promote sales while creating employment opportunities in the village and supporting rural tourism. The site is within walking distance of the local foot ferry and marina, allowing visitors arriving by boat to easily access the facilities.

Shotley Vineyard offers a comprehensive visitor experience including wine tastings, tours, cultural events, and weddings. The site also features glamping accommodation, making it possible to extend a visit into an overnight stay surrounded by vines with estuary views. Expert-led tours provide insight into coastal viticulture, while grazing boards perfectly complement the wine selection.
