About The Mount Vineyard

The Mount Vineyard is situated in the idyllic village of Shoreham in Kent, a beautiful 28-acre estate with 10 acres under vine producing six fantastic award-winning still and sparkling wines. Conveniently located just a stone's throw from Shoreham village station, direct from both London and Sevenoaks, the vineyard welcomes guests all year round.

The Mount Vineyard: Site and Grape Varieties

English winemaking history in this area dates back to Roman times when grapes were grown in the Shoreham valley. The first modern vines at The Mount were planted in 2004, comprising 13,000 vines of seven different varieties: Pinot Noir, Rondo, Regent, Bacchus, Seyval Blanc, Phoenix, and Siegerrebe. This diversity allows the winemakers to craft a range of wine styles.

Visiting The Mount Vineyard

The estate offers multiple spaces for visitors to enjoy, including the Courtyard Bar and Restaurant, the Flint Bar and Tipi overlooking the vines with views of the famous Shoreham Cross, and the Oak Terrace with its retractable roof for wine tastings. The Ten Acres Shop stocks the full Mount Vineyard range alongside global wines, local spirits, and gourmet gifts.

Wine tasting experiences take place throughout the year, offering visitors the chance to sample the estate's production while learning about English winemaking. Whether you're visiting for a leisurely lunch, an al-fresco drink amongst the vines, or a comprehensive tasting experience, The Mount provides a quintessentially English vineyard experience in one of Kent's most scenic settings.
